  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 8 years of experience in implementing or creating workforce development programs, building public private partnerships, creating programmatic policies, managing cross-functional programs or matrixed teams and economic development programs.
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience negotiating vendor and supplier contracts and managing these relationships with full responsibility.
  • Experience in labor market analysis, economic trend monitoring, and the development of impactful reports and briefings.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Data Centers, Utilities, Government, Advanced Manufacturing or capital intensive industries.
  • Experience developing and launching state, national or global public-private partnerships.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time as necessary across multi-market Data Center portfolio.
  • Experience using analytics to make decisions.

About The Job

As the Global Lead for Data Center Workforce Development (WFD), you will guide the development and execution of WFD strategies and programs essential for securing and sustaining Google Data Center's (GDC) talent pipeline, aligning with both near-term and long-term business objectives. As a key member of the Economic and Community Development Team, you will craft and lead regional and market-segment strategies for infrastructure development, focusing on labor and workforce development, and influencing third-party strategy at the executive level.

You will drive infrastructure development programs in WFD, managing a growing network of global vendors and partners across GDC’s portfolio. Your role involves influencing executive-level negotiations (e.g., C-suite) and generating innovative project initiatives and market opportunities related to WFD and stakeholder engagement.

By providing data-driven insights derived from labor market and community assessments, you will directly support GDC’s strategic growth goals. You will shape the strategic program for long-term infrastructure development in labor and workforce development. Partnering with cross-functional teams, you will drive measurable impact and cultivate relationships with education and workforce development organizations to implement strategic initiatives.

You will embed community and workforce development best practices within a rapidly expanding organization, serving as a subject matter expert on WFD delivery, strategic community engagement, and labor market opportunities for data center communities. You will identify future talent resource needs and collaborate with local and regional organizations to bridge skills gaps, creating a sustainable workforce pipeline for the data center ecosystem. Additionally, you will collaborate with education and training organizations to establish talent pathways, ensuring data center communities benefit from the digital economy.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Conduct robust, data-driven labor market analysis across multiple Data Center markets to help inform GDC location and expansion strategy, and support data center growth across construction and operations.
  • Designs and manage complex, cross-functional WFD programs and projects, while developing and executing a sustainable, scalable strategy, this involves creating strategic programming that anticipates future skill requirements, outlining key initiatives, goals, and metrics for success, and ensuring alignment with overall workforce development objectives.
  • Drives results through meticulous project tracking, risk management, process improvement, while providing comprehensive reporting on labor market trends and workforce growth.
  • Strategically cultivate and manage key internal (Cloud, Networking, People Operations, Data Center, Government Affairs) and external (educational institutions, think tanks, workforce-focused NPOs) partnerships to proactively address labor market risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Prepare and present executive reports on program progress and impact.
