The Loving Company is recruiting an Irrigation Technician to become an integral part of our Charlotte landscaping operations. As part of the Lawn Maintenance department, you will interpret project plans, install piping, sprinkler heads, valves and controllers, calibrate system timers, perform detailed inspections, and carry out seasonal upkeep on both surface and subsurface irrigation networks. Your practical expertise, keen attention to detail, and innovative water-management techniques will ensure our systems run seamlessly, support our sustainability initiatives, and create lush, healthy landscapes.

Requirements
What Success Looks Like
- Install and configure irrigation components, including pipes, sprinkler heads, control timers, valves, and pumps
- Test system operation and timing, making adjustments to achieve uniform coverage and minimize waste
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks: charging, draining, filter cleaning, and seasonal system winterization
- Diagnose and repair leaks, electrical faults, broken heads, and pressure issues in both new and existing systems
- Support inventory management by tracking parts usage, ordering supplies, and coordinating with department leadership
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work sites and service vehicles at all times
- Operate trucks, trailers, and basic landscaping equipment in compliance with MVR and DOT standards
- Document service calls, work orders, and service history using our fleet management software and mobile apps
- Collaborate with field crews, office staff, and clients, providing clear updates, recommendations, and exceptional customer service
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned that support the mission and core values of The Loving Companies, ensuring alignment with our culture of community, integrity, and impact
- Minimum of three years’ hands-on experience installing and servicing irrigation systems in commercial or residential environments
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to pass DOT physical exam and MVR check
- Proficiency with hand and power tools required for system maintenance and repair
- Familiarity with controllers, moisture sensors, and zoning principles for water-efficient system design
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Landscape irrigation certification (e.g., CLIA Certified Technician) preferred but not required
- Flexible schedule to support seasonal demands and occasional weekend or emergency service calls
