Maintains basic financial, accounting, and/or statistical records. Perform calculations and computations, primarily on computers and calculators, using known and standard formulas and methods. As needed and as directed, contact various internal and external parties to obtain information. Prepare, process, review, and record numerical transactions and records. This may include: processing bills and vouchers; reviewing or auditing calculations or statistics; disbursing or receiving items such as cash or vouchers, including, and tasks such as calculating and collecting fees.

Minimum Qualifications
No exam is required under the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (NY HELPS***) Program. Applicants must meet the NON-COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS listed below to qualify for this title.
Non-competitive Minimum Qualifications
One year of clerical experience where most work time is spent performing mathematical operations, and/or clerical activities related to mathematical operations.
Civil Service Eligibility List
Candidates on the appropriate promotional list(s) have been canvassed and do not need to apply to this posting.
Current New York State Employees
Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service as an Office Assistant 2, Grade 9; OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service in a qualifying title and eligible for transfer* under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
This position is part of the NYS HELPS program. No examination is required.
There is an additional $4,000 annual location pay for this position. NYS Department of Health does not participate in E-Verify and does not sponsor visa applications.
For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
