Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Partum Clinical Coordinator
Full-Time Position -Primarily Day Shift - OnCall Responsibilities
Job Summary
- Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Postpartum unit within a hospital
- Schedules employee shifts and ensures admitting and discharge functions are providing for optimal patient flow
- Ensures that hospital resources are being used in the most efficient manner
- Consults with staff, physicians, and the unit Director on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met
- Collaborates with the Maternal Program Coordinator to ensure education is being provided to staff as needed per designation requirements
- Participates in outreach education to surrounding Counties through the Perinatal Advisory Committee
- Maintains performance improvement activities within the department during all phases from planning to implementing and sustaining efforts, including taking corrective action if employees fail to carry out delegated duties
- May perform other administrative functions as necessary
- Coordinator reports to Maternal Director and rotates on-call with Director.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- 2+ years of Post Partum
- BSN preferred
- BLS certification
- NRP and STABLE certification
- COAP and Suicide Prevention course
- ACLS and PALS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
