Job Summary

Support instructional and research laboratory operations within the Biological Sciences of the Department of Natural Sciences, under the supervision of the Biological Sciences Laboratory Manager.

Responsibilities*

  • Prepare laboratory materials, reagents, and supplies for biology and environmental science undergraduate lab courses.
  • Assist with documentation, inventory, and relocation of plants and materials as part of the greenhouse revitalization project.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot basic laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Participate in sample collection and basic analysis of biological or environmental materials (soil, water, plant).
  • Monitor chemical and biological supply inventory and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist with routine upkeep of greenhouse infrastructure and support plant care under supervision.
  • Be present during scheduled lab sessions in the biological sciences dispensary to provide logistical and operational support.
  • Follow all departmental protocols for safety and waste disposal.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory and greenhouse safety procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Mater's degree in Environmental Science or Biology.
  • Experience working in greenhouse environments or biology teaching labs.
