Rotating Shifts

  • 1 shift / month 2:00pm -10:00pm.
  • 1 weekend shift / month 8:00am-4:30pm.
  • Participates in the on-call program for before/after operating hours and weekends.

Salary Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience. Pay Basis Monthly Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker III will provide sub-journeyman work in the performance of a variety of maintenance and repair, tasks in one or more craft areas. Responsible for building repairs, painting, door repair, tile repair, minor electrical, vendor coordination, kitchen equipment repairs, etc.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Performs Routine work orders.
  • Provide routine and emergency building repairs.
  • Assist building occupants with facilities requests, dining service repairs, etc.
  • Assist journeymen and carpenters in major repair, maintenance, or construction projects. including sheetrock replacement and repair, paint, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, light carpentry, cabinetry, repairing ceramic tile, countertops, vinyl tile & plank repairs, wall texture, door & hardware repairs, and installation.
  • Operate power tools and landscape equipment.
  • Respond to storm- and weather-related needs for campus, including, but not limited to removal of snow, ice, trees, branches, etc.
  • Pick up trash and porter grounds.
  • Drives a UTA vehicle.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years of experience in performing a variety of sub-journeyman maintenance and repair tasks or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.
  • This position requires a Texas Class “C” Operator’s Driver’s License.
  • Three (3) years of acceptable driving history.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of experience performing a variety of sub journeyman maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of equipment used in all assigned trade areas.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in all phases of work performed.
  • Ability to lift & move moderate to heavy objects.
  • Ability to operate furniture moving equipment and to drive a flatbed vehicle w/ lift gate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and in a team environment, as well as independently when needed.
  • Ability to have alertness and careful attention are required to avoid injury to oneself and to others.
