Job Summary: We are seeking a meticulous Logistics Specialist at SBM Life Science to plan, coordinate, and oversee the movement of goods from one location to another. The Transportation Coordinator will collaborate with various stakeholders, including shippers, carriers, and customers, to ensure that shipments are delivered on time and in good condition. They manage transportation schedules, track shipments, and communicate with drivers to ensure safe and efficient delivery. In addition, they are responsible for managing logistics documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs documents. The ideal candidate would have strong communication skills, ability to multitask, and work under pressure.

Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in hot/cold environments.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel to and from our Pasadena Manufacturing Plant and Baytown location. This role requires an active and valid drivers license.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Planning and coordinating logistics for transportation of materials, products, and personnel
- Monitoring transport costs and negotiating contracts with vendors or transportation service providers
- Ensuring compliance with government regulations and safety standards
- Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles
- Managing schedules to optimize delivery efficiency and customer service
- Resolving any transportation and logistics issues that arise
- Tracking deliveries and ensuring that all goods arrive on time and are undamaged.
- Training and supervising drivers and other transportation staff
- Implementing emergency response plans or procedures in case of transportation delays or accidents
- Documenting and reporting on transportation activities, costs, and performance metrics
- High School Diploma Required. Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or related field highly preferred.
- 3-5 years in a prior Transportation or Logistics role
- Experience using an ERP (Sage x3 a plus)
- Experience utilizing a WMS system (Blue Yonder preferred) and TMS
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, & Power Point
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
