Job Description

A Business Intelligence (BI) Developer produces financial and market intelligence to aid in business decision making through the development of reporting systems. The BI Developer uses and maintains warehouse data to solve organizational problems.

Report (BI) Developer Reports to: Director of Data & Analytics

Primary Duties

  • Solidify and extend existing Reporting Processes and Framework
  • Challenge the status quo and guide groups to ask more focused questions
  • Build and maintain highly intuitive and useable reports
  • Validate reports for accuracy
  • Troubleshoot and proactively prevent bugs
  • Stay up to date on recent product releases and incorporate the latest technology
  • Research and implement AI-powered solutions to promote self-service capabilities
  • Drive data adoption initiatives by developing user-friendly tools and frameworks.
  • Understand various goals for multiple business units including finance, HR, strategy, real estate, entertainment
  • Clearly present findings to C level executives as well as coworkers and other team members
  • Independent and Innovative Problem solver
  • Handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Create technical specifications documents and design process diagrams
  • Conduct code reviews and participate in technical design
  • Conduct performance analysis and optimize scheduled jobs.
  • Design and develop BI reports based on business requirements
  • Provide on-call support for BI processes
  • Conduct data profiling for new and existing data sources

Experience & Skills

The Individual must demonstrate deep knowledge of an Active Data Warehousing and Reporting environment. Candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting BI processes. The developer will use their experience to implement robust, maintainable solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Familiarity with database technologies and cloud infrastructure e.g. AWS
  • Experience in data classification & handling around data types included in HIPAA, PCI, CCPA, and other types
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with PowerBI or another data visualization tool
  • Experience designing jobs that can be easily promoted from one (Dev) environment to another (Test or Prod) seamlessly, without modification.
  • SQL beginner-proficient
  • Experience with snowflake or other cloud data warehouse helpful
  • Familiar with Agile methodology
  • Strong understanding of data visualization fundamentals.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of R, Python, JavaScript or similar programming languages.
  • Understanding of AI-powered analytics tools and platforms
  • Knowledge of big data technologies and AI/ML frameworks
  • Experience implementing self-service analytics solutions

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have valid driver's license with reliable transportation and be able to get to the various company properties when needed
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, walk and climb stairs for long periods of time
  • Able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
