Summary:
This person is expected to understand and respect the City Mission’s Statement of Faith. The Director of Discipleship serves as a spiritual shepherd and transformational leader, guiding residents and staff toward Christ-centered living. This role oversees the Bridges to Freedom program, ensuring that spiritual formation, life skills, and relational growth are rooted in Biblical truth. The Director fosters a culture of personal responsibility, accountability, and spiritual maturity, while promoting unity among class facilitators and consistency across program phases. This position reports to the Chief Operating Office.

Specific Responsibilities
Program Oversight – Bridges to Freedom
- Lead all aspects of the program, including content, structure, and phase transitions (Freshman–Senior).
- Maintain biblical alignment, clarity, and consistency in curriculum.
- Coach facilitators, offering guidance on discipleship with grace and truth.
- Monitor classroom engagement and ensure shared vision across the team.
- Track resident progress and uphold program expectations.
- Collaborate with case managers and wellness teams for holistic care.
- Maintain systems for documentation and communication.
- Model a surrendered life rooted in God’s Word through prayer, worship, and mentorship.
- Build intentional relationships that promote healing and growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s in Ministry, Counseling or related field preferred.
- Experience in recovery, transitional housing or trauma-informed settings preferred.
- Committed follower of Jesus with a passion for discipleship and transformational ministry.
- Strong biblical knowledge, communication, and relational skills.
- Ability to handle challenging conversations with grace and clarity.
- Alignment with City Mission’s mission and values.
- Flexibility and ability to work some weekends and evenings, as needed.
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
