Job Summary: The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) will be responsible for managing the investment activities within the Wealth & Retirement Division. This role involves developing and implementing investment strategies, leading the investment philosophy, and serving as the public face of the Division. The CIO will also be responsible for public speaking engagements and interacting with various media types to represent the Division. Responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of initiatives and projects to support the department and/or business unit. Establishes work processes for team members and ensures a high-level of customer service is delivered and promotes and fosters teamwork across all areas of INTRUST. Represents INTRUST Bank in all they do in the community and is focused on the development of new business relationships. Maintains strict standards of confidentiality and perform duties in a manner supporting INTRUST’s Character Qualities.

  • Effectively manage others by consistently applying INTRUST’s supervisor and manager expectations: relationship management; feedback; coaching and development; establishing effective work culture expectations; critical thinking; business acumen; and resource management.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction of the Wealth & Retirement Division.
  • Develop and implement investment strategies that align with the Division's goals and objectives, with a key focus on the development of new business relationships.
  • Lead the Investment Strategy Committee and ensure its effective implementation across the Division.
  • Conduct research and review portfolios to identify investment opportunities.
  • Identify financial risks and devise plans for mitigating them.
  • Recommend investments and provide detailed explanations of their benefits to the Division and our clients.
  • Compile and present regular reports on investment performance.
  • Maintain pulse of industry trends, regulations and new investment offerings.
  • Stay up to date on market forecasts and trends.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders and clients to enhance the Division's reputation and growth.
  • Proven ability to manage a team of investment executives and support subject matter experts.
  • Serve as the public face of the Division, representing it in public speaking engagements and various media types.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field; MBA and/or CFA preferred. 15+ years’ industry experience and 10 years’ management experience required.

Required Skills and Knowledge: Proven experience as a Chief Investment Officer or in a similar role within the financial services industry. Excellent public speaking skills and experience with various medica types, alongside proven content development expertise. Demonstrated integrity and ethical behavior in all professional activities. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. In-depth knowledge of investment strategies, financial markets and risk management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders. Demonstrated strong leadership and decision-making abilities.

Required Licenses and/or Certifications: CFA preferred, valid driver’s license required.

Physical Demands: Extended period(s) of time may be spent viewing a personal computer, sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. The physical demands necessary for this role should be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions: Normal office conditions. Travel required.
