Eligibility Specialist

• Review all appointments for valid, eligible insurance.
• Contact insurance companies via internet or phone to determine current eligibility.
• Document eligibility status in the practice management system.
• Update copay and deductible information.
• Open communication with the front office to relay problematic insurance coverage prior to the appointment.
• Strong organization skills
• Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and Modifiers
• Knowledge of medical billing and payer requirements
• At least 2+ years of recent eligibility experience
• Working knowledge of the insurance industry and medical terminology
• Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, Managed Care and Private Insurance
• Proven problem-solving skills and communication skills
• Candidates must be able to work with high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to operate office machines including but not limited to computer, ten key, etc.
• Knowledge of Excel and Word
• Ability to navigate specific billing software
• This role will be based out of Santa Ana, but may eligible for hybrid/remote after training*
