Position Summary
The Resource Navigator & Communications Coordinator serves as a key support staff member responsible for connecting residents to essential services and benefits, managing external communications, and supporting day-to-day operations at the direction of the Executive Director. This is a dynamic, on-site role that requires adaptability, professionalism, and a genuine passion for veteran advocacy.

Requirements
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist residents in identifying and applying for veteran benefits, housing assistance, healthcare services, job placement, transportation, and legal aid.
- Maintain relationships with external service providers, agencies, and veteran-serving organizations.
- Track referrals and follow-up to ensure successful outcomes.
- Provide in-person, trauma-informed support to residents as needed.
- Manage and update organizational social media accounts.
- Draft and distribute newsletters, event announcements, and informational materials.
- Design flyers, email campaigns, and public-facing media.
- Capture and share success stories with dignity and consent.
- Assist with event planning, logistics, and promotion.
- Provide flexible support for special projects and day-to-day needs.
- Serve as a collaborative member of the team.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with social media management and communications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of veteran benefits or experience with vulnerable populations.
- Lived experience as a veteran or connection to veteran service work.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- On-site position in Salem, Oregon with occasional off-site work
- Occasional evening or weekend work required.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and work on foot as needed.
