Job Summary:

ArcBest is a company focused on cognitive systems, and they are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design, develop, and maintain machine learning components. The role involves troubleshooting system issues, integrating ML components, and ensuring the reliability and functionality of ML models.


Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot Cognitive Engagement system failures or performance issues, including live site support and on-call rotation.

• Comply with project plans and industry standards.

• Tailor and deploy ML tools, processes, and metrics.

• Integrate ML components into a fully functional software system.

• Execute full lifecycle model development using MLOps.

• Understand the landscape of ML infrastructure and ML systems required to support Cognitive Engagement technologies, both current and emerging.

• Other duties and projects, as assigned.

• Test solutions thoroughly to ensure reliable functionality prior to implementation.

• Develop model verification plans and quality assurance procedures.

• Write well designed, testable, efficient code.

• Develop, monitor, and maintain the ML models required to support Cognitive Engagement products throughout ArcBest.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on machine learning.

• Document and maintain model functionality.

• Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility of ML models.


Qualifications:


Required:

• Designs, develops, installs, optimizes, and maintains the machine learning components of cognitive systems

• Evaluates machine learning processes

• Performs statistical analysis to resolve data set problems

• Enhances the accuracy of AI software's predictive automation capabilities

• Builds high-quality, innovative, and fully performing models in compliance with coding standards and technical design

• Responsible for development, writing code, troubleshooting, and documenting functionality

• Troubleshoots Cognitive Engagement system failures or performance issues, including live site support and on-call rotation

• Complies with project plans and industry standards

• Tailors and deploys ML tools, processes, and metrics

• Integrates ML components into a fully functional software system

• Executes full lifecycle model development using MLOps

• Understands the landscape of ML infrastructure and ML systems required to support Cognitive Engagement technologies, both current and emerging

• Tests solutions thoroughly to ensure reliable functionality prior to implementation

• Working knowledge of ML frameworks, libraries, data structures, data modeling, and software architecture

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or related field

• Master's Degree in computational linguistics, data analytics, or related field

• Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role
