Position Summary

The Human Resources Supervisor carries out a wide range of tasks within the HR department. This role works closely with the Human Resources team to maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs, that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, cohesiveness, and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Human Resources Supervisor carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Time and attendance, employee relations, training and development, benefits, recruiting/onboarding, and staff events. 

Position Qualifications

Knowledge:

  • The ideal candidate for this position will have general knowledge of employment laws, ADP Workforce Now, Recruiting, and basic Human Resources practices.  
  • Must be fluent in both English and Spanish in order to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferred.

Level Of Experience

  • Minimum of 1-3 years as a Human Resources Generalist, Assistant or Coordinator.
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now preferred.

Level of Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Business, Organization Management or similar.

Travel: <5%

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The core tasks, duties, and responsibilities that must be performed on the job.

  • Presents company information in New Employee Orientation, including policies, procedures, and employee benefits. Assists team members with benefits enrollment, life events, and supporting documentation. 
  • Leads hourly recruitment efforts, including confirming hiring needs with Plant Leadership; working with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; extending offers; scheduling drug testing and background checks; communicating internal opportunities; conducting exit interviews, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Coordinates use of staffing agencies, including communicating needs, uploading agency new hires into ADP Workforce Now, investigating and resolving issues with agency team members, providing weekly payroll reports, and approving invoices.
  • Assists with employee leaves , time and attendance, wellness initiatives, benefits and open enrollment.   
  • Ensures consistent application of company policies, including administration of attendance points policy; issuing written discipline documents; investigating alleged misconduct; and coaching plant leadership on disciplinary matters.
  • Assist with safety initiatives and incident reporting for work-related injuries. 
  • Responsible for maintaining employee files to ensure files are kept private and up to date.
  • Leads the development of managers, leads, and supervisors in areas of employment law, performance management, and professional development. Provides guidance to supervisors on issues of employee performance, development, or discipline.
