Position Summary:

The Vice President, Health Systems Strategy leads strategic initiatives that align AffirmedRx's pharmacy benefit solutions with the needs of health systems, IDNs, and hospital-owned specialty pharmacies. This role drives cross-functional collaboration to maximize 340B opportunities, in-house pharmacy utilization, and hospital-specific formularies, while advancing a transparent, patient-focused PBM model built on ethical partnerships and financial integrity.

What you will do:

Develop and Execute Health System Growth Strategy:

  • Lead multi-year strategy focused on expanding AffirmedRx's presence within health systems
  • Leverage expertise in onsite specialty pharmacy operations, 340B programs, and clinically integrated formularies
  • Build and strengthen long-term partnerships with key health system stakeholders

Optimize 340B and In-House Pharmacy Performance:

  • Drive strategies to maximize 340B eligibility and revenue through formulary alignment and claims optimization
  • Collaborate with benefit design teams to ensure alignment with hospital goals
  • Identify innovative pharmacy solutions that enhance operational efficiency and financial outcomes

Enhance Clinical Integration and Collaboration:

  • Partner with Clinical and Formulary Management teams to design hospital-specific formulary strategies
  • Align formulary approaches with clinical pathways and best practices to improve patient care
  • Support development of custom clinical programs that address unique health system needs

Ensure Seamless Implementation and Operational Excellence:

  • Work closely with implementation teams to integrate health system requirements into onboarding processes
  • Lead creation of customized reporting packages to support compliance, transparency, and performance tracking
  • Support sales and business development efforts by providing health system insights and strategic input during RFPs and client engagements

What you need:

  • Advanced degree in Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Public Health, or Business (e.g., MBA, MHA, PharmD, or related field)
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in health system strategy, specialty pharmacy, managed care, or pharmacy benefit management
  • Extensive knowledge of 340B program operations, onsite specialty pharmacy services, and hospital formulary management
  • Proven track record of successful cross-functional collaboration with clinical, operational, implementation, and sales teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strategic partnerships with health systems, delivering measurable improvements in patient outcomes and financial performance
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy benefit management (PBM) operations, with a focus on transparency, compliance, and innovative solutions
  • Prior experience within a transparent PBM or directly within a health system or integrated delivery network (IDN) preferred
  • Expertise in value-based care models, patient access strategies, and population health management
