We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Hearing Representative Supervisor to lead and manage a team of hearing representatives within a fast-paced California Workers’ Compensation copy service environment. This supervisory role is critical in ensuring compliance with legal procedures, optimizing team performance, and maintaining high-quality representation at hearings including but not limited to hearing related to Non-IBR matters and lien conferences across the state.

A Little Bit About The Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Hearing Representative Supervisor to lead and manage a team of hearing representatives within a fast-paced California Workers’ Compensation copy service environment. This supervisory role is critical in ensuring compliance with legal procedures, optimizing team performance, and maintaining high-quality representation at hearings including but not limited to hearing related to Non-IBR matters and lien conferences across the state.

- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
- Compensation: $85,000 - $104,000 Annually
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, mentor, and supervise a team of hearing representatives.
- Monitor performance and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and legal practices.
- Assign and manage hearing/lien conference calendars
- Monitor outcomes and develop strategies to improve resolution rates and reduce receivables.
- Collaborate with other departments including Billing, Collections, and Customer Service.
- Assist in the preparation and review of hearing files and case strategy.
- Monitor team’s preparation of settlement offers, lien claims, DORs, and other filings.
- Provide support or backup representation as needed at WCAB hearings (in-person or remote).
- Ensure compliance with DWC regulations, copy service fee schedules, and court procedures.
- Keep abreast of changes in workers’ compensation law and train the team accordingly.
- Generate and analyze reports to track hearing outcomes, productivity, and KPIs.
- Serve as a point of contact for escalated client concerns or questions regarding legal proceedings.
- Help maintain strong client relationships through effective resolution of disputes and clear communication.
Experience, Skills & Abilities:
- Education and/or experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Hearing Representative in California Workers’ Compensation. (Trial experience required)
- At least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of WCAB processes, lien litigation, non-ibr litigation, and DWC rules and regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in case management systems (e.g., MerusCase, CompIQ, or similar).
- Ability to travel to hearings as required.
- Prior experience with copy service or ancillary service provider in workers’ comp.
- Familiarity with billing and collections as related to lien or petition enforcement.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Legal writing - Petitions including but not limited to Reconsiderations and Removals
- Proficient using a computer, business phone, office software, video conferencing, and other computer programs including Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail, etc.)
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation, including, but not limited to:
- Lifting, bending, standing, climbing or walking while carrying out assigned duties
- Keyboarding for extended periods of time (total: 4-6 hours/day)
- Using a phone with or without a headset for extended periods (total: 3-5 hours/day)
- Sitting and/or standing at a desk for multiple hours at a time (total: 6-8 hours/day)
