Job Description
Windows Engineer
As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active DOE Q clearance or the ability to obtain aDOE Q clearance to be considered.
We are seeking a Junior Windows Engineer to support the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Windows-based systems. The ideal candidate will assist with system updates, troubleshooting, and configuration tasks, while learning from senior engineers in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Windows Engineer: $65,000 to $85,000
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided.Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Windows Engineer Responsibilities Include
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with operations, call center teams, and stakeholders.
- Support hardware and software issues, ensuring stable system performance.
- Perform system administration tasks, including performance tuning and patch management.
- Integrate Linux/Unix services with Windows systems.
- Conduct system monitoring, upgrades, backups, and configuration management.
- Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
- Support forensic analysis, triage, and resolution of system/server-related incidents.
- Manage user accounts, including creation and deletion.
- Stay current with technologies through certification and professional development.
- Work independently or as part of a team while following best practices and procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
- Compliance with NIST/NICE 800.181 within six months of hire.
- Experience supporting enterprise Windows environments.
- Strong background in Windows Server (2016+), Windows 10/11, and Active Directory.
- Experience with VMware, Nutanix, SCCM, CyberArk, Commvault, STIG, ST&E, CCRI.
- Familiarity with Remedy, ServiceNow, Exchange/Outlook.
- Knowledge of PowerShell, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy Management.
- Experience with hybrid environments (Linux/Windows) and system hardening.
- Understanding of ISO, CMMI, ITIL, Agile, SAFe methodologies.
- Ability to work shift schedules as required.
- Ability to work as a member of a team to accomplish common goals.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow standard procedures.
- Experience identifying and improving system inefficiencies.
