AutoCAD Drafter - Security Systems

Job Summary

A leader in the security design industry is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to support a growing backlog of small-to-midsize projects. This role will focus on creating accurate drawings used by field teams, including shop drawings, permit sets, and submittal packages. The ideal candidate is independent, detail-oriented, and familiar with low voltage security system design.

Responsibilities

• Draft and revise 2D AutoCAD drawings for security system installations
• Produce permit set drawings, shop drawings, and submittal documentation
• Interpret and apply design standards and building codes
• Collaborate with project managers and designers to deliver accurate drawing packages
• Support low voltage layout design including CCTV and riser diagrams
  
  

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience drafting security systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting is 90% of the work)
• Knowledge of design standards and applicable building codes
• Experience with low voltage security, CCTV layouts, and riser diagrams
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  
  

Preferred

• 5+ years of security system drafting experience
• Experience with firms such as Security 101 or Siemens
• AutoCAD 3D experience (not required, but a plus)
  
  

Additional Details

• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder required (no sponsorship)
• Minimal overtime expected (paid at 1.5x)
• Background check (no felony convictions) and 5-panel drug screen required
• Business casual dress code

Location: Miramar, FL 33025

Type: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension or Direct Hire)

Pay Rate: $25.00-$26.00/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Onsite Only)
