Job Objective
The Development Engineer is responsible for designing, creating and testing new products within the product portfolio of the company. The responsibilities include the coordination and management of resources within other departments such as but not limited to Process Development, Material Development, Prototyping and Testing. A very close relationship to the OEM's development and research departments is key.
Description Of Main Tasks
- Identifying the needs of the customer and the company; integrating market research to determine the requirements and goals of new products
- Conceptualizing new product ideas by using CAD software to design prototypes
- Administer fabrication of prototypes and related testing
- Sampling different materials, manufacturing processes, design tolerances, and other factors to find the best ones that suit the new product
- Analyze and perform quantitative assessment of design prototypes in line with regulatory and industry norms and OEM requirements
- Analyze existing products to identify areas for improvement and updating current documentation
- Prepare comprehensive project plans with technical objectives and detailed cost estimates
- Administer progress of assigned projects to major stakeholders and document all associated activities
- Assess the technical and commercial potential of a new product idea/concept based on empirical data and prepare decision-making basis
- Develop and facilitate a close relationship with OEM's research and development teams to understand the customers future needs
- Special tasks or projects as assigned by the management

Skills & Competencies
- Minimum educational level: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Professional experience in product development in the automotive industry would be preferred
- Experience with regards to carcoustics products is nice-to-have
- Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and applications
- Project Management competencies

- Problem solving and good communication skills
- Teamwork ability
- MS office, MS project
- Preferably experience with CAE and CAD
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- English language on C1 - C2 level (person is able to express himself/herself spontaneously, fluently and precisely)
