Duties & Responsibilities:

Technical Accounting

  • Lead the company’s technical accounting function, serving as the subject matter expert on US GAAP and PCAOB standards.
  • Research and assess impact of new or evolving accounting pronouncements (e.g., Revenue recognition, debt/equity financing, leases, internal-use software, goodwill & intangibles, impairment) on the business and lead implementation projects.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical accounting memos, position papers, and presentation materials to support audit documentation requirements and effectively communicate key accounting conclusions to cross-functional team, management and auditors.
  • Collaborate with legal, FP&A, tax, and business teams to ensure accounting implications are addressed in new initiatives or contracts.

Financial Reporting

  • Own monthly and quarterly global financial consolidation process across multiple legal entities and currencies.
  • Prepare timely and accurate internal and external financial reports, including consolidated balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, and equity statements.
  • Ensure financial reports are in full compliance with US GAAP and aligned with expectations of a future public company.
  • Prepare audited financial statements, including footnote disclosures and MD&A narrative, in partnership with the Director of Finance.
  • Assist in building reporting frameworks that meet SEC readiness as part of IPO preparation.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly journal entries to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Execute and review account reconciliations, ensuring all financial records are precise and up-to-date, with discrepancies resolved promptly.

Policy Development

  • Draft, update, and roll out global accounting policies that ensure consistency across entities and adherence to US GAAP.
  • Maintain a centralized accounting policy manual and promote awareness and training across finance teams globally.
  • Partner with regional finance directors to align on local statutory practices while ensuring compliance with group-level consolidation and reporting requirements.
  • Provide training and mentorship to regional accounting teams on technical accounting topics and month-end closing best practices.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance accuracy, speed, and scalability of the financial close and reporting processes.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is required
  • 6–8 years of progressive experience in accounting, ideally with a mix of public accounting (Big Four or mid-tier) and in-house corporate accounting at a multinational company
  • Strong command of US GAAP, including practical experience with complex areas such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), foreign currency, intercompany transactions, and equity accounting (ASC 718)
  • Proven experience preparing or reviewing consolidated financial statements for multi-entity and multi-currency organizations
  • Demonstrated success in leading or significantly contributing to year-end audit processes, including preparing audit schedules and managing external auditor requests
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while meeting tight deadlines and managing competing priorities
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin with ability to read and speak in both languages; able to communicate effectively with regional teams and review accounting documents and contracts in Chinese
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Clear, professional communicator — able to distill complex accounting issues for non-accounting stakeholders and collaborate effectively across departments and time zones
  • Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented mindset; always looking for opportunities to improve processes and scale infrastructure
