Outreach is hiring a full-time Youth & Family Therapist/Crisis Intervention Team Member at Outreach Wheaton to join the counseling staff. Outreach Wheaton provides counseling for individuals, couples, and families, crisis intervention for runaway teens, and casework services for basic needs.

Responsibilities

• The Youth & Family Therapist/Crisis Intervention Team Member will maintain a full-time caseload of 20 to 25 clients of mostly low-income, at-risk youth and family therapy cases and serves on the crisis intervention team.
• The Youth & Family Therapist/Crisis Intervention Team Member will respond to crisis calls for locked-out and runaway youth, primarily during daytime hours, carry the after-hours crisis phone on a rotating basis, and provide follow-up services.
• The Youth & Family Therapist/Crisis Intervention Team Member will provide individual, youth, marital, family, and group therapy, including assessment, treatment and termination, and coordination of services.
• The Youth & Family Therapist/Crisis Intervention Team Member will maintain strong community contacts to facilitate excellent coordination of comprehensive services and the completion of monthly grant reports regarding program services.
• Position reports to the Director of Counseling Services in Wheaton and collaborates with the Associate Director of CCBYS Program. LCPC supervision available.
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, including 2 evenings per week.
  
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
• LCSW/LCPC/LMFT is a plus and eligible for additional compensation.
• At least 2 years of experience in systemic interventions with youth.
• Ability to navigate the larger mental health and social services delivery systems.
• Sensitivity to the needs of a low-income, culturally diverse population.
• Must live within approximately 30 minutes of downtown Wheaton to respond to crisis calls.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• A valid driver's license and ability to drive to and from service and meeting locations.
