Description

Position Summary:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and career-minded Junior Mortgage Processor with recent mortgage lending experience to support a high-performing loan officer and branch team. This is a hybrid role combining processing, light administrative management, and marketing support. The ideal candidate has worked in mortgage operations within the past 1–3 years, understands the flow of a loan file, and is eager to grow in a fast-paced, production-heavy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Processing & Loan Support

  • Review initial loan files for completeness and accuracy before submission to underwriting
  • Collect and verify borrower documentation (income, assets, disclosures, etc.)
  • Order and follow up on third-party items such as title, VOEs, VODs, insurance, and appraisals
  • Communicate proactively with borrowers, loan officers, and processors to keep files moving
  • Maintain loan files within LOS (Encompass, Blend, etc.) and ensure compliance with lending guidelines
  • Submit clean files to underwriting and assist with clearing conditions
  • Track and manage loan pipeline activity to ensure deadlines are met
  • Help with marketing duties customer service and follow up as assigned

Branch Operations Support

  • Serve as a point of contact between loan officer and internal team for day-to-day file coordination
  • Help facilitate loan milestone updates and key communication touchpoints
  • Maintain internal systems such as CRM and task trackers to keep pipeline organized
  • Prepare file summaries and follow-ups for pipeline reviews

Marketing & Administrative Duties

  • Assist with social media content scheduling and simple campaign execution
  • Help coordinate client events, email marketing, and post-closing follow-ups
  • Manage client review requests and maintain referral partner contact records
  • Organize printed materials, client gifts, and occasional branch mailings
  • Support lead tracking and reporting for internal team use

Requirements:

  • Recent experience (within last 1–3 years) in mortgage lending, preferably in a processing or LOA capacity
  • Familiarity with Encompass, DU/LP, and mortgage loan flow
  • Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and follow-up ability
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a deadline-driven environment
  • College degree preferred but not required
  • A positive attitude and team-player mindset

About The Role

This pivotal role blends operations, customer service, marketing coordination, and loan officer assistance. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the right-hand partner to the branch’s lead loan officer, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and efficiently
  • Run Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Product Advisor (LP) for new pre-approvals; assist with structuring files and helping clients get qualified
  • Fix problems in the process—whether operational, transactional, or related to borrower communication—proactively and resourcefully
  • Track loan files through each stage, managing deadlines, follow-ups, and ensuring smooth transitions between milestones
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, agents, and internal team members—ensuring all communication is timely, clear, and empathetic
  • Assist with CRM data management (Salesforce preferred), including tracking lead status, updating notes, and maintaining file integrity
  • Help submit and reconcile various business expenses and branch-related reimbursements
  • Support team morale and accountability, keeping operations moving forward even when the loan officer is unavailable
  • Create and execute basic marketing campaigns (social media, email, print) to support brand awareness and referral generation
  • Take full ownership of assigned projects and esponsibilities, ensuring no loose ends and consistent follow-through

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Recent mortgage industry experience preferred, but not required
  • Background in fast-paced, high-touch environments such as hospitality, real estate, or customer service strongly valued
  • Familiarity with DU, LP, and mortgage pre-approval processes preferred
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills—empathetic, articulate, and confident
  • Proficient with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
  • Tech-savvy; capable of handling tools like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and light marketing tools
  • Smart, dependable, and solutions-oriented—someone who takes ownership and sees tasks through to completion without being micromanaged
  • A natural team leader—calm under pressure, resourceful, and adaptable
