Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly. What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating the 2-Hour Learning block by guiding students in goal-setting, task management, and effective use of technology.
- Enhancing reading habits and routines by building on skills introduced by Reading Specialists.
- Fostering emotional regulation, resilience, and teamwork through a supportive and structured environment.
- Monitoring and assessing student progress, addressing issues proactively, and collaborating with your team to refine strategies.
- Crafting a classroom atmosphere that is both structured and playful, akin to a high-expectation summer camp.
- Conducting whole-class lessons from a whiteboard throughout the day.
- Taking charge of literacy instruction or curriculum design.
- Grading numerous papers or drafting extensive lesson plans.
- Operating in a technology-free or uninspiring classroom setting.
- Managing behavior without appreciating the individual behind it.

Basic Requirements
- Availability to work full-time and in-person at one of our locations in Washington D.C., Raleigh, NC, Charlotte, NC, Orange County, CA, or San Francisco, CA.
- A degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least 3 years of experience with children ages 4–8 in educational, afterschool, coaching, or similar settings.
- Proven ability to inspire and manage groups of young children with a balance of structure and enthusiasm.
- A mindset geared towards growth and a willingness to be coached.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Certifications or training in early childhood education models (e.g., CDA, Montessori, Reggio Emilia).
- Experience in supporting literacy instruction or working with literacy specialists.
- Knowledge of adaptive learning software or personalized educational tools.
