Enrollment Worker – CDPH PrEP-AP Telehealth Program

About The Position
TeleMed2U is hiring Enrollment Workers to support the implementation of California’s PrEP Assistance Program (PrEP-AP) under the California Department of Public Health, Office of AIDS (CDPH/OA). This role plays a vital part in connecting individuals—particularly those who are uninsured, underinsured, or have confidentiality concerns—to HIV prevention services through telehealth.
Enrollment Workers are responsible for client intake, eligibility screening, system documentation, warm hand-offs to clinical providers, and ensuring compliance with all CDPH requirements. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to health equity for vulnerable and priority populations across California.
Key Responsibilities
This role is part of a government-funded program and may evolve based on contract terms. Cross-training and flexibility are essential to support overall program success and potential integration with other TeleMed2U services.

About The Position

Key Responsibilities
- Client Eligibility & Enrollment
- Complete CDPH/OA-approved training prior to enrolling or re-certifying clients
- Confirm client identity via at least three security questions before disclosing PHI
- Ensure all eligible clients apply for appropriate pharmaceutical assistance programs
- Complete initial enrollment and re-enrollment accurately in the AIDS Enrollment System (AES)
- Perform warm hand-offs to PrEP-AP telehealth prescribers for clinical eligibility assessment
- Ongoing Case Management
- Update and maintain accurate records in AES and internal tracking systems
- For clients who test HIV positive, refer to an ADAP Enrollment Site or provide site contact info within 48 hours of notification
- Collaborate with the Program Manager and clinical team to ensure appropriate linkage to care
- Compliance & Reporting
- Sign and adhere to CDPH confidentiality agreement (CDPH 8689)
- Program Launch & General Operations Support
- Answer inbound calls and respond to patient messages in a timely and professional manner
- Triage faxes and route incoming documentation to appropriate internal teams
- Support clinical coordination efforts to ensure seamless patient handoffs and follow-up

Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in healthcare enrollment, case management, or social services preferred
- Familiarity with PrEP, HIV prevention programs, or public health initiatives is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) capabilities highly desirable
- Comfortable navigating databases and telehealth tools
- Prolonged periods of desk work and computer usage.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
