Position Summary:

Detailed Responsibilities:
- PURCHASE ORDERS - Issues Purchase Orders for goods or services in compliance with the UNMH purchasing procedures, state procurement code, and user requirements; perform high volume and quality purchase orders; facilitates technical and large-scale Purchase Orders of equipment, materials, services, and supplies; Investigate and follow-up on challenging purchase orders that may have changes, complaints, and make corrections to purchase orders to rectify any/all issues
- REQUISITIONS - Receive, analyze, and process departmental requisitions
- LIAISON - Provides liaison services between vendors and departments for requisition status, procurement procedures, and problem resolution; researches procurement methods; confer with departmental representatives to determine purchasing needs, specifications, areas of standardization, and unique purchases; follow-up on purchase orders not received within a reasonable length of time and communicate with the requesting department
- QUALITY ASSURANCE - Expedite shipping, deliveries; maintain inventories, monitor usage inconsistencies, price changes, and vendor back orders; work with vendors on backorder items to verify expected delivery dates; review vendor quotes for content and accuracy
- ORDER - Order medical and non-medical supplies carried by Materials Management inventory to ensure effective and efficient patient care
- DATA - Maintains data, files, reports, and price lists on assigned commodities and has the ability to negotiate prices
- RECORDS - Maintains records in accordance with established policies, procedures and audit guidelines
- ASSISTANCE - Validate and assist with reconciliation, processing receiving reports and as needed with vendor invoices or other payment documents
- RESOLUTION - Resolve matters relating to substitutions, equivalents, delivery schedules, and vendor complications
- SUPPLIES - Work with other hospitals on borrowing/lending supplies in an emergency
- DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
