Part-Time Disaster Relief Program Assistant (Grant Funded)

Hourly Rate: $20/hour

Schedule: 20 hours per week

Term: 12-month grant-funded position


Position Overview:

United Way of East Tennessee Highlands is seeking a highly organized and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a Part-Time Disaster Relief Program Assistant. This grant-funded role will support the administration and reporting of disaster-related grants and partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work reliably within set hours.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with grant reporting and management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Draft and maintain MOUs for new disaster-related grants
  • Create and edit program documents and reports
  • Prepare and produce presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collect and organize data for progress reports and funder updates
  • Support volunteer unit coordination
  • Help in identifying social media opportunities for program awareness
  • Maintain professional communication with partners and stakeholders
  • Ensure all work is completed with a high level of attention to detail


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with document creation, reporting, or administrative support
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills (kindness is a must!)
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with reliability
  • Demonstrated tech-savviness and proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Google Workspace
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Experience in disaster relief, nonprofits, or grant-funded work is a plus


Schedule & Compensation:

  • 20 hours per week, flexible within standard business hours
  • $20 per hour, paid biweekly
  • 12-month position
