Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our accounting and finance team. This position plays a critical role in supporting our accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, balance sheet reconciliations, and collection calls. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with a strong work ethic who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
General Support: Provide ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting, and administrative support as needed.
Reconciliations & Reporting: Perform monthly account reconciliations, journal entries, and assist in financial statement preparation.
Accounts Receivable: Create customer invoices, record payments (checks and credit cards), and assist with customer account management.
Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, verify contract accuracy, ensure proper approvals, reconcile vendor statements, and manage expense reports and credit card transactions.
Collections & Customer Communication: Follow up on overdue accounts, negotiate payment plans, and maintain professional communication with customers to resolve outstanding balances.
Cash Flow & Inventory: Support cash management processes, monitor inventory levels, and assist in supply chain management.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and maintain strong internal controls.
Mailing & Distribution: Assist with the processing and distribution of printed materials for Community Impact. Oversee the timely mailing of invoices, statements, and payment reminders, ensuring accurate customer account information and payment processing.
Qualifications

Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
- Experience in a manufacturing or print production environment is a plus but not required.
