Overview:

The Business Analyst (BA) 1 supports business operations through the analysis of processes and systems. This position assists the Business Systems Analyst by performing key business analysis functions, including working with stakeholders to understand needs and contributing to solutions that drive operational efficiency and effectiveness. This role is ideal for early-career professionals eager to grow.

Essential Functions

  • 90%
  • Assists in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements through interviews, meetings, and research.
  • Processes maps, flowcharts, and related documentation to support analysis and system improvements.
  • Tracks project tasks, deliverables, and stakeholder follow-ups.
  • Helps translate business needs into clear documentation for IT teams and summarizes technical information back to business users.
  • Assists in reviewing and summarizing simple data sets to support project tracking or stakeholder reporting.
  • Supports the development of user guides, SOPs, and training materials.
  • Summarizes user feedback and share key findings with project stakeholders.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with business users, IT staff, and project stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding and smooth project execution.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 10%

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field required.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in a business analysis or systems support role.

Skills/Abilities

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to translate business needs into clear technical documentation and explain technical concepts in business-friendly terms.
  • Basic understanding of business analysis principles and process documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Visio is a plus.
  • Eager to learn and take initiative; able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable working with both business stakeholders and IT staff to ensure alignment.

Work Environment

  • Office environment.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Manual dexterity associated with computer data entry required.
