The primary responsibility of this role is to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications and tools that enhance engineering productivity and operational intelligence.
Reporting to the Sr Manager, the person in this role will join the Cloud Engineering & Software Development Support team to build and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure and systems.
This position is based in Plano, TX. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Develops, tests, and deploys high-quality software applications and services that support efficient development, deployment, and operation of other engineering teams' applications.
- Contributes to the automation of software delivery pipelines (CI/CD) by writing robust code for tools and integrations that streamline the build, test, and deployment processes.
- Designs and implements data processing pipelines and visualization components for "engineering insights," transforming raw data into actionable intelligence for improved decision-making across engineering.
- Builds and maintains developer-facing tools and APIs that enhance the overall developer experience, promoting self-service capabilities and reducing friction in software development.
- Collaborates closely with application development teams to understand their software needs, gather requirements, and integrate solutions seamlessly.
- Focuses on writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code while participating in code reviews and adhering to software engineering best practices.
- Assists in troubleshooting and debugging complex software issues within our tools and systems, applying analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience (e.g., coursework, projects, internships) with at least one modern high-level programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Basic understanding of software development methodologies, data structures, and algorithms.
- Hands-on experience with Git or other modern version control systems.
- Proven ability to approach and solve technical problems systematically.
- Familiarity with core concepts and basic services of a major cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience developing or consuming RESTful APIs.
- Exposure to data processing concepts, databases (SQL/NoSQL), or data visualization tools.
- Personal projects, contributions to open source, or internship experience demonstrating strong software development skills.
- Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, or other software testing practices.
