The CAD Drafter is responsible for high quality project design delivery which meets or exceeds the requirements of the contract agreement between Mantis and our clients. Your contributions will include producing plans and details for roofing, paving, and building envelope projects.  The CAD Drafter is tasked with developing an in-house CAD details library and serving as Mantis’ internal CAD expert.

Essential Functions - CAD Drafting, Survey & CQA

  • Collaborate with Design team to prepare project plan drawings and specific construction details using AutoCADfor commercial roof systems.
  • Translating ideas, sketches & specifications into complete & accurate working plans.
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings for building envelope and pavement systems as needed.
  • Develop, compile, and maintain an in-house library of CAD design components for roofs, building envelope, and pavement.
  • Creates and executes project and CAD drawing delivery schedules and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Ensures design documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Contribute to periodic design reviews to establish and ensure designs are up to Mantis design standards.
  • Design support will require conducting occasional onsite pre-design surveys.
  • Occasional CQA (construction quality assurance) may be required depending on CAD workload.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Drafting & Design or related field (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree)
  • 3+ years of AutoCAD LT 2019 experience and/or related certification
  • Commercial construction experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Construction
  • Autodesk Revit experience
  • ArcGIS experience
  • SpecLink experience
  • Historic restoration experience

Working Environment/Physical Activities

  • Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, and/or site visits.
  • Work is performed in a non-smoking office setting with exposure to CRTs and UV rays
  • Usual office environment with long periods of sitting, walking, standing, stooping
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Working extended hours may be required

$30 - $45 an hour
