Position Overview

The Claims Representative is responsible for managing the entire claims process, from initial communication with insurance carriers to the submission of supplement estimates and documentation. This role involves writing and revising Xactimate estimates, providing insurance-related support to franchisees, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The representative also mentors new team members, conducts research on code and installation guides, and proactively resolves claims disputes with insurance carriers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Claims Handling: Communicate with insurance carriers to ensure timely claim submissions, documentation, and follow-ups for efficient resolutions.
  • Estimates: Prepare and update Xactimate estimates with accuracy, aligning with project scope, insurance standards, and repair costs.
  • Franchisees Support: Serve as the primary resource for franchisees on insurance-related questions, ensuring smooth claims processing and compliance.
  • Training: Mentor and train new team members on claims handling, Xactimate usage, and insurance procedures to build team expertise.
  • Research: Stay current on building codes and manufacturer guidelines to ensure all estimates and repairs meet regulatory standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and organized claim records, including estimates, correspondence, and supplemental updates.
  • Claims Dispute: Work with insurance carriers and adjusters to resolve disputes, advocating for fair settlements on behalf of franchisees.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in claims handling while collaborating across departments to refine best practices.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, keeping the team and franchisees updated on changes.
  • Customer Service: Build strong relationships with carriers, franchisees, and vendors while delivering exceptional support and timely resolutions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, required.
  • Minimum of two (2) or more years of experience managing insurance claims, preferably within the roofing or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with estimating software for writing and revising estimates; Xactimate preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance processes, property claims, and regulatory standards, including local building codes and compliance requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with insurance carriers, franchisees, and internal teams.
  • Experience mentoring team members on claims processes and industry best practices, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple claims, stay updated on industry changes, and ensure timely resolutions.
