Job Summary

We are seeking a Bilingual Associate Area Manager to support our landscape operations team in Antioch, CA. This on-site leadership role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in commercial landscaping and crew supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for training, supporting, and directing foremen across multiple job sites, ensuring high-quality service, safety compliance, and client satisfaction.

While this position does not have direct managerial responsibility, it involves significant influence over daily crew operations. The Associate Area Manager will coordinate work plans, inspect completed work, and ensure that projects meet contract specifications and company standards. This is a hands-on field leadership role requiring the ability to motivate teams, solve operational challenges, and effectively communicate in both English and Spanish.

As a sign-on incentive, a $1,000 signing bonus is being offered for this position (conditions apply).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and support to foremen and landscape crews to ensure productivity, safety, and service quality.
  • Coordinate and assign daily work schedules based on project priorities, weather conditions, and crew availability.
  • Inspect work sites regularly to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
  • Monitor maintenance activities such as mulching, mowing, pruning, planting, fertilizing, and herbicide applications.
  • Coach and train employees in landscape maintenance practices and equipment operation.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials to ensure availability and safe usage.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and managers to align activities across departments.
  • Assist with payroll processing, job planning, and reporting.
  • Uphold uniform and PPE policies.
  • Communicate regularly with the Area and Branch Manager regarding project progress, budgets, and performance goals.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of education).
  • Minimum 6 years of commercial landscape experience.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Bi-lingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) certification.
  • Pesticide License (or willingness to obtain within one year).
  • Supervisory experience in the landscape or related industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of safety protocols and landscape equipment.
  • Understanding of turf and plant fertilization, pruning techniques, and herbicide use.
  • Ability to read maps and navigate job sites effectively.
  • Strong conflict resolution and team leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate landscape equipment and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work and field inspections.

Work Environment

  • Outdoor job sites and field environments with exposure to weather, mechanical tools, and varying noise levels.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne particles, chemicals, and uneven surfaces.
