Job Summary:
Arrowhead Credit Union is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer dedicated to designing and implementing analytics, reports, and visualizations to support data-driven decision-making. The role involves reviewing existing reporting structures, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and providing management with clear, actionable results.
Responsibilities:
• Personally, provides exceptional member service; uses Service Standards in every work-related interaction.
• Actively participates in meeting the goals of the department and the Credit Union.
• Work cooperatively with others as part of a formal or informal team to accomplish department and Credit Union goals.
• Provides excellent service by using a positive and professional tone to assist callers and team members accurately, thoroughly, and as efficiently as possible while maintaining consistent and friendly service.
• Uses organizational tools and techniques to complete tasks on time and successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
• Design, develop, and maintain SSRS reports to meet business requirements.
• Write and optimize complex T-SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and transformation.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from various sources, including websites, APIs, files, and other systems.
• Create interactive dashboards and visualizations in Tableau to support data-driven decision-making.
• Perform data analysis to uncover trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
• Implement and enforce data governance policies to ensure data integrity and security.
• Manage and maintain database systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues related to data integration, queries, and reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define requirements for reporting and analytics.
• Design and implement database schemas and architecture to support scalable data solutions.
• Use Python for data processing, automation, and advanced analytics.
• Conduct data validation and ensure the accuracy of reports and analytics solutions.
• Provide technical support and training for end-users of BI tools and solutions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in business intelligence and analytics.
• Document Business Intelligence (BI) processes, data workflows, and system configurations for future reference.
• Ensure compliance with organizational data standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Analyze existing BI systems and recommend improvements for efficiency and scalability.
• Develop KPIs and performance metrics for measuring business success.
• Participate in system upgrades, testing, and deployment of BI tools and databases.
• Reviews existing service-level standards and measures the impact of service against expectations.
• Directs project activities, initiates analysis, and provides solutions for problems within scope of responsibility.
• Exemplifies the attitude, aptitude, and ability to learn quickly and efficiently while showing assertiveness in personal development.
• Independently takes responsibility for learning and development by acquiring and refining of technical and professional skills needed in job-related areas.
• Provides feedback on department policies and processes to improve efficiency and service outcomes.
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
• Maintains a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC), and complies with all laws/regulations applicable to area(s) of responsibility. Completes all required and assigned training modules by established due dates.
• Maintains working knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures.
• Completes all other duties as assigned by supervisor/leadership as necessary to achieve the goals of the Credit Union and the department.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 1 year(s): Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, ColdFusion/CFML, or others.
• Experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Working knowledge of front-end frameworks like React, Vue, Bootstrap, jQuery, etc.
• The ability to use RESTful and SOAP APIs and different API protocols and data formats (JSON, XML).
• Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• In-depth knowledge of programming concepts.
• Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL: Ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services): Designing, developing, and maintaining professional-grade reports.
• Data Visualization Expertise: Creating interactive dashboards and visualizations in Tableau or similar tools.
• Data Integration and ETL Skills: Experience with ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources, including databases, websites, APIs, and different file formats.
• Python Programming: For data analysis, process automation, and advanced analytics tasks.
• Database Design and Architecture: Designing efficient and scalable database schemas to support business needs.
• Data Governance Knowledge: Understanding of data quality, security, and compliance best practices.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Debugging and Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues in data systems, reports, and workflows.
• Communication and Collaboration: Strong ability to work with stakeholders to gather requirements, explain insights, and align technical solutions with business objectives.
Preferred:
• 3 year(s): High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience, commensurate training, etc., with specialization in programming, systems analysis, system design, database concepts and data modeling methodologies.
• Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field
