Responsibilities: As a Payroll Clerk you will be responsible for managing the payroll process, ensuring that employees are compensated accurately and on time. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Collect and verify timekeeping data, including hours worked, overtime, and time-off requests.
- Calculate wages, deductions, and with-holdings accurately based on company policies and regulations.
- Prepare and process payroll using payroll software, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, tax forms, and direct deposit details.
- Ensure data confidentiality and security of sensitive payroll information.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
- Collaborate with carriers to ensure accurate benefit enrollment and changes.
- Reconcile benefits and pay carriers in a timely fashion
- Generate and distribute payroll reports to relevant departments, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare payroll-related reports for management and external agencies as required.
- Calculate and withhold appropriate taxes, including income tax, Social Security, and other deductions.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax reports to relevant authorities.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with HR and finance team members to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Initiate applicant backgrounds in the ATS once verification has been completed and promptly relay results to hiring manager(s)
- Once date of hire is confirmed the applicant should be entered in to all applicable systems 48 hours prior to start date
- Complete on-boarding via payroll software and collect any missing documents
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience (5 years) in payroll processing, preferably using payroll software.
- Familiarity with payroll regulations, tax codes, and labor laws.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software.
