Job Summary

The Human Resource Recruiting Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the company's talent acquisition and human resources functions. We're looking for an organized, enthusiastic, and bilingual (English and Spanish) Recruiting Specialist to join our team! You'll play a crucial part in attracting and hiring top talent for both our union and non-union positions. If you're a self-starter with excellent communication skills and a knack for juggling multiple tasks, we want to hear from you! This is a dynamic and fast-paced position where you'll be instrumental in creating positive experience for all candidates and supporting our hiring managers through every step of the recruitment process. Your bilingual skills will be key in connecting with a diverse talent pool, and your ability to communicate effectively with everyone from new hires to senior leaders will be essential.

All hiring managers, Dispatchers, Office Manager, Payroll Specialist, Safety Manager, Risk Management Specialist, Corporate Counsel, and IT

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Recruitment Support:
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to source qualified candidates for diverse roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and establish competency models for key positions.
  • Conduct comprehensive screening, interviews, assessments, and reference checks.
  • Assist the recruiting team with all stages of the hiring process for a variety of union and non-union roles.
  • Post job openings on various platforms, ensuring accurate and engaging content.
  • Help screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
  • Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Management:
  • Be the primary administrator and super-user for Breezy (our ATS), ensuring data integrity and efficient workflow.
  • Manage candidate pipelines, update statuses, and maintain accurate records within Breezy.
  • Generate reports from Breezy as needed.
  • Candidate Experience & Interview Coordination:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from application to offer.
  • Schedule interviews (virtual and in-person) with candidates and hiring managers, managing complex calendars.
  • Prepare and send professional offer letters.
  • Send timely "no thank you" notes to unsuccessful candidates, maintaining a positive and responsive employer brand.
  • Coordinate a seamless onboarding experience for summer interns, including new hire orientations, manager feedback processes, and exit interviews.
  • College & Career Fairs:
  • Take the lead on coordinating and executing all college career fairs, from registration and logistics to materials preparation and on-site support.
  • Represent the company professionally at recruitment events, engaging with potential candidates.
  • Representing the company at college career fairs and job fairs in the trades, ensuring impactful brand representation
  • Recruiting by cold calling prospective candidates for difficult to fill positions.
  • Administer the employee referral bonus program and track vital recruitment metrics.
  • Oversee Salesforce administration for recruitment and event management.
  • Manage and update all job descriptions on a timely basis

Craft Recruiting (Union Trades)

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local union halls and apprenticeship programs to source skilled craft workers.
  • Working knowledge of the collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and local hiring hall procedures for craft recruitment.
  • Coordinate with union representatives to facilitate the referral and placement of qualified journeymen and apprentices.
  • Actively participate in union-sponsored events and initiatives to build a robust pipeline of craft talent.

Onboarding & HR Administration

  • Provide backup support for managing the complete employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, including paperwork preparation and system data entry (Vista, Heavy Job, Nice Touch, etc.).
  • Generate critical HR reports and assist with employee record management, investigations, subpoenas, and audits.

Employee Relations & Support

  • Provide support in employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
  • Coordinate and support team-building activities and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Deliver general HR support as assigned.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. At least two years’ related experience required. PHR credential preferred, Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures

Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; "Fluent in Spanish (written and verbal)”.

Mathematical Skills: Basic business math.

Reasoning Ability: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Computer Skills: be fluent in Google workspace, Salesforce, HRIS or related software. Experience with Vista and Breezy preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registration: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 15lbs.

Compensation

$36.00 - $45.00, based on skills experience and knowledge
