The Opportunity

This is more than a design role; it's a chance to shape the future of global connectivity. We are looking for a visionary Principal Product Designer to own the user experience for our revolutionary platform, with a special focus on the Cruise and Ferry industry. You will be the chief advocate for our users, transforming complex technological capabilities into an intuitive, elegant, and powerful interface. You understand that your design decisions will be pivotal to the product's—and the company's—success. If you are driven to solve complex problems and build category-defining products, we invite you to join our mission.

What You'll Do

As a Principal Product Designer, you will be the driving force behind our product's user experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Define the Vision: Develop and champion a compelling design strategy and vision that aligns with our company goals, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Lead Design Execution: Oversee the entire design lifecycle, from concept to launch. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, prioritize features, and create a comprehensive design roadmap.
  • Master the Market: Conduct continuous competitive analysis and monitor industry trends to ensure our product design remains innovative, competitive, and ahead of evolving customer expectations.
  • Drive Product Launches: Partner closely with product management, engineering, and sales teams to craft go-to-market strategies, define product positioning and messaging, and ensure successful product design launches.
  • Champion User-Centricity: Embed user-centered design principles and best practices across the organization, leveraging user experience research to inform and validate your design decisions.
  • Mentor and Inspire: Guide and motivate your colleagues, setting a clear vision for design excellence and elevating the team's creative and strategic output.

What You'll Need

We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of design leadership and innovation.

  • Experience: 10+ years in product design, with a portfolio showcasing your leadership in launching successful, high-impact products. Experience in a leadership or mentorship capacity is strongly preferred.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field provides a strong foundation for this role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Mastery of modern design tools and a deep understanding of design thinking, user-centered design methodologies, market research techniques, and data analysis.
  • Strategic Mindset: The ability to think strategically about design direction, market opportunities, and competitive positioning is essential. You must be able to translate complex business objectives into clear design initiatives.
  • Exceptional Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required to articulate a clear design vision to stakeholders and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A proven ability to work with engineering, product, marketing, and sales teams to foster an inclusive and high-performing environment.
  • Adaptability: The design landscape is dynamic. You must be comfortable with change and adept at embracing new technologies and agile methodologies.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Compensation: A strong salary and meaningful equity options.
  • Performance-Based Bonuses: Opportunities for bonuses based on your performance.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental and vision benefits.
  • Work-Life Balance: A flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) policy.
  • Retirement Savings: Access to a 401(k) plan.
  • High-Impact Role: An opportunity to make a significant impact at a rapidly growing startup and shape the future of AI-driven connectivity.
