Overview

As the VP, M&A and Corporate Development, you will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of our company through strategic partnerships, cultivating relationships with investors and financial stakeholders, and new business opportunities. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record of building and nurturing relationships, identifying market trends, and executing on strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth and enhance the company's market position. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

The typical base pay range for this position is USD $243,000 - $381,700 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

Responsibilities & Competencies

Job Duties

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives including setting clear goals, identifying target audiences, and defining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for market expansion and growth, potentially through new market segments, product lines, or geographic regions.
  • Develop an effective organization creating a culture of excellence that continues to achieve objectives and deliver success over time
  • Identify and foster strategic partnerships and alliances that enhance the reach and impact of the business
  • Define and articulate compelling value propositions and messaging that resonate with target customers
  • Participate in the quarterly and annual planning cycles for the Business Unit and company

Competencies

  • Deep understanding of industry-specific drivers (e.g., AI, IoT, consumer tech, etc.)
  • Extensive professional network in the semiconductor, AI, and IoT sectors
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies to identify, pursue, and capture new market opportunities
  • Exceptional communication skills to craft compelling narratives that convey value propositions to diverse audiences; the ability to distill complex business strategies or technologies into compelling narratives for boards, investors, and strategic partners and produces high-quality written materials including business proposals, white papers, investor decks, and formal correspondence
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate market trends, competitive landscape, and financial modeling
  • Expertise in crafting partnership models, joint ventures, licensing, M&A, and negotiating commercial terms
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a global team: Achieves organizational focus on key priorities, establishes clear expectations, sets objectives, delegates, actively communicates and coaches; a committed mentor, people developer and team builder
  • Highly experienced at building cross functional relationships across multiple levels of an organization and building successful cross functional partnerships
  • Strong influencer and leader through change and are motivated by the challenge of a fast-paced, high-growth global environment
  • Considered a respected leader by your peers, direct reports, and executive management
  • Able to articulate problems that are not clearly defined and require in depth understanding of technology and organizational objectives and develop a roadmap to address
  • Must be analytical and able to make informed decisions based on experience and sound instincts in complex and rapidly changing environments
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and bring multiple parties together to drive key initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent
  • 15+ years in the semiconductor or adjacent industry is preferred, with a deep understanding of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory requirements, including at least 7 years in a senior leadership position
  • History of identifying emerging trends, technologies, and business models that drive growth
  • Deep experience developing market entry strategies, customer acquisition, pricing models, and commercialization plans
  • Proven experience in a senior business development role
  • Proven track record of driving business growth
  • Proven track record of organizational leadership, inspiring innovation, and building collaborative, high-performing teams
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop plans that are executable
  • Experience translating Business Strategy into actionable roadmaps.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes on time and within budget
  • Strong problem-solver and decision-making skills in complex and rapidly changing environments; able to articulate problem statement and develop roadmap to address
  • Up to 50% travel required
