Job Description

Summary of Position: Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products in the production area. This position will be responsible for the inspection of materials, parts, and products at various stages of production. This position will also communicate / train the quality systems to other employees as needed and records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all Safety and Quality procedures and observes the operations to ensure a safe environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance of “Product Quality” of the product, to meet the expectation of our customers.
  • Performs daily quality control inspections, checks, functional tests, documents and disseminates results.
  • Conduct performance testing, completing appropriate documentation and maintain records to satisfy contractual, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Review production schedule and create batch documentation and labels.
  • Follows procedure for containments and defective material, placing material on hold and documentation. (Hold for Inspection)
  • Verifies “Line Clearance” activities.
  • Escalate issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Works closely with front line, operators and production supervisors to advise when adjustments are needed.
  • Interact with production personnel to ensure quality checks, packaging, documentation requirements and the quality system is clearly understood.
  • Write, train, and follow procedures.
  • Maintain the work area in an organized and professional manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 2 years related trade school training; or equivalent of education and experience in similar environment
  • Use and understanding of precision measuring instruments and gauges, specifications, charts and diagrams, understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT)
  • Ability to accurately read measuring devices, product specifications and test procedures
  • Good hand/eye coordination and motor skills
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Computer skills are required; familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping
