Anchor Talent is partnering with a growing advanced manufacturer moving into the Austin metro to recruit an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager is a hands on, individual contributor role that will also oversee, set and plan operations objectives, productivity, scheduling, quality systems, test engineering and supply chain. The Operations Manager will have direct impact on driving accountability, consistency and process improvement. This organization is currently designing a new state-of-the-art facility for which you would have influence and assist in design and set-up.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead all operational setup activities for the new manufacturing facility, including layout planning, workflow design, and equipment readiness.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes, SOPs, quality systems, and inventory controls to support production startup and scaling.
  • Create and manage operational systems around project execution, scheduling, cost tracking, resource planning, and contract compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability and aligned with production goals.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across efficiency, throughput, and quality.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships during the buildout phase and into steady-state operations.
  • Lead operational readiness efforts including audits, compliance planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee inventory management, material flow, and logistics coordination for incoming and outbound shipments.
  • Contribute to hiring and development of future team members as the facility ramps up.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the facility and corporate leadership for operations-related matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Technology or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to greenfield or facility expansion projects.
  • Demonstrated success in building out processes, workflows, and facility layouts from the ground up.
  • Proven leadership in cross-functional project management and vendor coordination.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

  • Compensation: Midpoint in range $125,000
  • Bonus: Up to 15% based on company and individual performance
  • Location: Austin, TX (relocation provided)
  • This is an onsite role
  • 25% Domestic Travel
