Position Overview

The Coordinator of Federal Programs is responsible for managing federally funded programs designed to support students from low-income families. This leadership role includes the following responsibilities.

  • Work closely to support students and families identified as McKinney-Vento, and support services for Homeless and Foster Students.
  • The Coordinator collaborates with school administrators, educators, parents, and the community with family involvement to promote educational equity, student achievement, is effective, compliant with federal regulations.
  • FACE paraprofessionals report directly to the Coordinator of Federal Programs.
  • Oversees, organizes, and monitors our PACT preK program.
  • Reports to the Director of Federal Programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and administration of McKinney-Vento, and services for Homeless and Foster Students.
  • Oversee the PACT (Parents and Children Together) Pre-K Program, a Title I initiative managed by the department, ensuring its alignment with federal goals and objectives.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret student performance data to inform programmatic decisions and improve educational outcomes.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for program improvements and policy changes to enhance the effectiveness of federal initiatives.
  • Provide professional development for program personnel, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment within the department.
  • Oversee FACE (Family and Community Engagement) Facilitate strong partnerships with parents, teachers, and community stakeholders to support program development and student success.
  • Serve as a liaison between the district and community groups.
  • Communicate with other administrators, personnel, and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts, and exchange information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Federal Programs.

Program Monitoring

  • Monitor the implementation of the district's federal programs and develop appropriate reports for state and federal agencies.
  • Provide leadership with in-service education needs and in planning and developing in-service education opportunities for PACT teaching teams.
  • Administer special programs requiring expertise in areas related to assigned duties and provide leadership in coordination.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of department functions and activities.

Qualifications And Educational Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred, but will accept a bachelor's degree in Education
  • Valid Indiana Administrator's or Educator's License
  • Five or more years of recent successful classroom teaching
  • Highly effective interpersonal and group communication skills
  • Strong knowledge base of best practices in early childhood instruction
  • Proficient in Google, Microsoft, PowerSchool, and ParentSquare
  • Strong work ethic, self-directed and self-motivated
