Must have a minimum of 90 semester units or more of coursework continuing education towards a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university. Basic skill requirements are required for the undergraduate substitute teaching permit . OR a bachelor's degree or higher will qualify for this position. Bachelor’s degree or higher applicants do not need to provide basic skill requirements for a substitute teaching permit. TB clearance (TB test must be cleared within 4 years). All applicants must have a valid California teaching credential or emergency Substitute Teaching Permit. First time applicants may apply for a permit with the necessary documents. Upon hire, the district will assist with the Substitute Teaching Permit application process. *Your application will be considered incomplete if you do not attach the required documents. Unofficial transcripts MUST show completion of a minimum of 90 semester units of course work from a regionally accredited four-year college or university. If a transcript shows units transferred from another institution, the letter verifying enrollment must specify the number of units transferred that were accepted toward completion of a bachelor’s degree.
  • CBEST Certification: This is a Basic Skills Requirement for the undergraduate. If you have not taken or passed the CBEST, you may satisfy the requirement with alternative options. Long Term Resident Substitute Teacher Assignment Long-Term Rate of Pay $260/Full Day Long Term Substitute Teacher and Vacancy Assignment Long-Term Rate of Pay 16+ Days or more in same assignment retroactive to first day. $130/Half Day $260/Full Day Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher Assignment Three Tier Short-Term Rate of Pay 1-25 Days: $100/Half Day $200/Full Day 26-50 Days: $110/Half Day $220/Full Day 51+ Days: $115/Half Day $230/Full Day Substitute Teachers who reach 25 days by June 30th will continue to progress at these levels for subsequent years.
