The Clinical Data Analyst will work within the Suspect Services Team focusing on clinical suspecting, Machine Learning, and clinical actions. This role assists with gathering, analyzing and preparing reports of various healthcare data within Atlas, DataRAP, eClinical Works (eCW) and additional applications in the WellMed data platform to drive and support business needs.

The Clinical Data Analyst will work within the Suspect Services Team focusing on clinical suspecting, Machine Learning, and clinical actions. This role assists with gathering, analyzing and preparing reports of various healthcare data within Atlas, DataRAP, eClinical Works (eCW) and additional applications in the WellMed data platform to drive and support business needs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Research, interpret, and analyze pertinent healthcare data to identify new business opportunities and drive business decisions. (E.g. LOINCs, ICD-10, CPT, etc.)
- Provide monthly metrics relating to variances and efficacy of clinical suspects and actions
- Liaison between clinicians, business and IT teams
- Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities through analysis
- Participate in user acceptance testing, assist with team coordination of system changes, and system upgrades
- Analyze data trends and create documentation to support all reports, conduct quality monitoring to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Make recommendations based on data analysis and provide explanations for reporting results as needed
- Build and maintain solid relationships with business partners to effectively gather requirements and ensure business expectations are meet
- Identify challenges and opportunities, develop solutions and communicate to business leaders and internal stakeholders
- Maintain clear, well-organized documentation of data processes, analytical methodologies and dashboard logic to ensure transparency, reproducibility and team alignment
- Develop and document process improvements
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Registered or Licensed Vocational Nurse
- 2+ years of intermediate experience using Microsoft office applications, including databases, word-processing
- 2+ years of intermediate experience using Visio and Excel
- 1+ years of Clinical Analytics experience
- 1+ years of process improvement experience
- 1+ years of healthcare experience in one or more of the following areas: Claims Processing/Analysis, Medical Billing, Medical Coding, Nursing, Medical Assistant, Clinical Operations
- Proven excellent presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written
- Associate or bachelor’s degree
- Certified Professional Coder
- 1+ years of advanced experience using Microsoft office applications, including databases, word-processing
- 1+ years of advanced experience using Excel
