Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The Tradeshow + Event Specialist will play a crucial role in the larger efforts of the Marketing Communications department by leading collaboration in the strategic direction, planning, executing, and optimizing national and regional tradeshows that showcase Huber Engineered Woods’ innovative building material solutions and industry-leading brands. This role drives high-impact, brand-aligned experiences through hands-on demonstrations, thought-leadership content, and strategic collaboration with sales, marketing, and agency partners. With a focus on logistics, storytelling, lead generation, and post-event engagement, the Tradeshow + Event Specialist plays a key role in elevating HEW’s brand activation and presence, maintaining brand messaging consistency at events, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering measurable results.

Success in this role requires the ability to:

Collaborate in strategy development to position our brands as the leader in the industry while communicating our value proposition to appropriate audiences through memorable and engaging experiences

Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with internal stakeholders and external vendors/partners to align on goals

Execute organized, high-impact events through self-directed management of complex event logistics and budgets

Process and detail attentiveness to manage multiple events simultaneously and navigate changing timelines and on-site challenges

Proactive use of lead data, feedback, and ROI analysis to refine event strategy and enhance results over time.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge Or Required Skills

  • Event Management - Ability to coordinate complex timelines, stakeholders, and logistics to deliver high-quality events. Success in this role requires balancing meticulous attention to detail with the ability to pivot in real-time, especially in fast-paced, on-site environments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Comfortable at working across teams to bring diverse inputs into a cohesive experience. Strong interpersonal communication and a team-first mindset are essential to gain alignment and drive action.
  • Customer-Focused Execution – Understand how to create experiences that communicate the value proposition of our brands to our primary audience of builders and tradespeople. Work with the brand and technical teams to translate technical product benefits into meaningful, hands-on engagements that generate interest
  • Accountability – Create and manage budget needed to execute event strategy, and comfortable with handling invoices, receipts, and contracts. Regularly provides budget updates to manager and internal stakeholders.
  • Creative Problem Solving - Thrives in dynamic environments where creative thinking and practical judgment are required to solve last-minute challenges and improve future execution.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in a relevant field and/or relevant experience
  • Experience in experiential marketing, tradeshow management, or large-scale event coordination
  • Ability to manage event logistics, vendors, budgets, and on-site execution
  • Communication and collaborative skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Curiosity and creativity in concepting engaging experiences plus attention to detail and process for executing them
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the US and Canada
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and are comfortable being on your feet for long periods.
