Summary

The Regulatory Data Analyst will collaborate with fellow Regulatory & Oversight Services (ROS) associates to identify and fulfill divisional data needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Developing reporting solutions to support the wide range of ROS data and reporting needs.
  • Ensuring accuracy of data query results by identifying and addressing data errors or inconsistencies.
  • Working with management to prioritize information needs and deliver effective data solutions.
  • Collaborating with the firm’s Information & Analytics Department to become familiar with available data structures and query techniques.
  • Regularly create, test, and refine SQL scripts to support reporting and ad hoc analysis requests.
  • Identifying and proposing data-related process improvement opportunities.
  • Generating reports for regulatory inquiries and exams as well as firm oversight and supervision.
  • Becoming proficient with financial services industry investment products, services and regulatory infrastructure and intimately familiar with related data sets and elements available in the firm’s enterprise data warehouse.


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience or demonstrated aptitude in data mining and administration.
  • Finance coursework or prior experience in a Financial Services firm a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative.


Education And/or Work Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, or other data-related field.
  • Minimum Required: 3+ years of data analytics experience.


Licenses/Registration

  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) examination completion a plus; must be conversant in SIE concepts within six months of start date.


Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a stationary position for several hours at a time and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally. Some filing is required. The work environment is an air-conditioned, smoke-free, office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
