Zurich North America is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst II to join our Finance IT team based out of North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois OR the person could be remote. This role will report into a team responsible for supporting Financial Operations, Billing systems and other responsibilities.
The Business Systems Analyst will serve as an Agile Scrum/Kanban Development team member and work with the Business and Data Management, providing solutions for business systems needs and will understand business objectives, processes, and products as well as the business systems capabilities to formulate, define, document, and implement systems scope and objectives to develop and provides solutions.
In addition, as a key member of the Data Management team, the Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for profiling, analyzing and documenting the technical requirements of the Zurich North American Data warehousing system for their assigned Agile team backlog.

In addition, as a key member of the Data Management team, the Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for profiling, analyzing and documenting the technical requirements of the Zurich North American Data warehousing system for their assigned Agile team backlog.
Key focus areas will include:
- Ability to master complex data transformations concepts, includes data warehousing principles
- Proficient in writing and interpreting SQL queries to query and manipulate data within the warehouse
- Ability to analyze and interpret data from various sources
- Knowledge of ETL processes
- Ability to create visualizations using tools like Power BI
- Ability to work to capture requirements in a formal manner
- Ability to be resilient in the face of a complex system, complex problems, and demanding deadlines
- Ability to work well with others in a highly interdependent high-performance team
Other responsibilities may include:
- Coordinate and drive activities with product owners and business stakeholders to refine prioritized backlog and gather requirements
- Document appropriate detailed functional and non-functional requirements
- Identify data most valuable to the organization, and evaluate this data and alignment with the corporate data model
- Manage business rules to enhance and optimize filtering results
- Use requirements management tools and techniques such as JIRA documenting backlog (epics, user stories, etc.), Persona models, Use Cases, Data Matrix, Process Flow Diagrams, , etc.
- Support development, testing, implementation, and some training activities
- Understand and apply delivery approaches (i.e., Agile methodology, Scrum/Kanban) and perform, independently, business analysis processes in accordance with Zurich frameworks
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development area OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Application Design and Development area.
- Strong SQL skills
- Proficient with any of the scripting language such as Python
- Agile (Scrum/Kanban) Methodology
- Data Warehouse experience / normalized tables
- Finance or Insurance industry experience
- Data Profiling and Data Mapping experience
- Strong written and verbal communication experience
- Databricks knowledge
- Experience with IBM RSA
- ETL Informatica
