Phillips-Medisize is seeking a Production Planning Specialist at their Caldwell, ID site to ensure the timely and cost-effective availability of materials and components to support operational performance and collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, customer service, warehouse, tooling, maintenance, engineering and management to provide efficient production schedules that meet our customer order requirements.

What You Will Do
Production Scheduling:
In order to comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations, this position requires applicants to either provide proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status or be eligible to receive an export authorization (a license) under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations.

What You Will Do
Production Scheduling:
- Assist in estimating the number of hours necessary to complete work orders, especially multiple secondary operations with respect to customer due dates
- Apply knowledge of machine capabilities, production capacity, material availability, potential part sensitivities, and multiple operation lead times in developing production schedules
- Use MRP/MPS Planning System to develop work schedules that facilitate timely completion of job orders based on relative priority, verifying that material, machines, personnel, and molds are available
- Monitor schedule delays (lost/missing parts, reject, scrap, tool room delays, etc.) and communicate changes and reasons to production and customer service
- React to possible scheduling conformance delays such as expedite list, lost/missing parts, tool room delays, engineering update/sample, information system accuracy, remold/rejects/scrap
- Run and maintain the site’s backlog report
- Review MRP data, generate reports, and communicate updates as information changes
- Provide timely and accurate responses to Customer Service inquiries
- Share knowledge internally to ensure functional cross training
- Work with cross functional teams to ensure assembly line(s) have all materials needed to optimize the line’s throughput
- Assist in the site’s plans regarding integration into SAP
- Train to serve as backup for other departments, as needed
- Determine raw material requirements from sales orders and computer generated MRP information
- Maintain raw material inventories to support production schedules
- Assist in setting and maintaining component safety stock levels, according to customer demand
- Identify and inform management of capacity constraints, and recommend strategies to alleviate
- Optimize and maintain the scheduling system by updating information and system parameters, as needed such as lead times, time fences, lot sizes, safety stocks, etc.
- Maintain and facilitate an open line of communication between all parties and functions impacted by the master production schedule
- Monitor changes to customer orders/forecasts, and their potential impact to the master production schedule. Provide feedback in a timely manner to customer service regarding the ability to meet the requested changes
- Review monthly transactional inconsistencies and offer solutions
- One year or more experience in production scheduling or planning in a manufacturing environment
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems such as SAP, IQMS or Oracle
- Degree in business or finance, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a Contract Manufacturing or Manufacturing Assembly industry
- Manufacturing experience in a medical device or a regulated industry
