What the Role Is
The Technology Manager in IT Operations will lead a cross-functional team responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of Heaven Hill’s network, infrastructure, and storage environments. The Manager will lead a direct team, manage the Technology Services budget, and drive critical projects and programs from conception through delivery. This role requires technical expertise, exceptional communication skills at all organizational levels, and a strategic mindset to prioritize initiatives that align with business objectives.

How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Team Leadership & Development
- Directly manage IT Operations Engineers, providing coaching, performance feedback and career development.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture based on continuous improvement.
- Budget Accountability
- Own and manage the annual IT Operations budget, including forecasting, expense tracking, and vendor contract negotiations.
- Project & Program Management
- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of IT infrastructure roadmap and products that support business initiatives.
- Establish project governance, track milestones, mitigate risks, and report status to senior leadership.
- Critical Work Prioritization
- Assess incoming requests and incidents; drive urgency where needed to ensure uptime and business continuity.
- Define SLAs and KPIs; implement monitoring and alerting processes to proactively address issues.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate project plans, budgets and operational updates to senior leadership, peers and individual contributors.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused insights.
- Technical Oversight
- Maintain deep knowledge of networking (routing, switching, firewalls), server and storage architectures (SAN, NAS, virtualization), and cloud integration.
- Partner with Security, Data & Analytics, Application teams, Product Owners, and business partners to ensure cohesive technology solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of IT Operations (networking, infrastructure, etc.) experience, with at least 2 years in a people-management role overseeing direct reports.
- Proven track record managing multi-million-dollar budgets and vendor contracts.
- Strong project/program management skills; PMP or equivalent certification a plus.
- Experience serving as a Scrum Master or in an agile facilitation role.
- Expertise in networking, infrastructure (servers, virtualization), and enterprise storage systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, able to engage with C-level executives as well as technical staff.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize high-impact work in a fast-paced environment.
Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-prem.
- Strong automation mindset and skills
- Familiarity with Agile concepts
