Description

The Director of Information Technology will lead, scale, and modernize our internal IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and employee-facing technology services. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Digital/IT, this high-impact role serves as the organization’s most senior IT systems leader, owning the full lifecycle of corporate infrastructure, support operations, and digital workplace technologies. In this role, you will lead a lean, agile team while remaining deeply engaged in day-to-day operations. You’ll oversee systems administration, endpoint management, cybersecurity, SaaS platforms, cloud services, and IT service delivery across a distributed, regional workforce. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping a secure, scalable, and user-centric IT environment that empowers productivity and innovation. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strategic foresight and a strong leadership presence. Strategic Planning And Leadership

  • Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with the organization's financial and operational objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the IT team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Lead IT projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define IT requirements and priorities.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends and identify opportunities for innovation.

IT Operations Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems.
  • Manage the IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and software applications.
  • Ensure that IT services meet or exceed business expectations for performance, availability, and support.

Digital Transformation And Innovation

  • Work with Digital/IT leadership to drive digital transformation initiatives, enhancing business processes and customer/employee experiences.
  • Identify and implement innovative technology solutions that create competitive advantages.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate technology into business operations.

Project Management

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Establish and maintain project management best practices, including the use of agile methodologies where appropriate.
  • Monitor project progress and report on key milestones and outcomes to senior leadership.

Infrastructure And Security Management

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and management of IT infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies to protect the company’s data and IT assets.
  • Identify and mitigate IT-related risks, including data breaches, system failures, and cyber threats.
  • Ensure the organization's cybersecurity measures are robust and up-to-date, safeguarding data and IT assets against threats.

Technical Support Management

  • Ensure effective technical support services for all users, addressing issues promptly and minimizing downtime.
  • Monitor and improve helpdesk performance, ensuring high levels of user satisfaction.

Financial Oversight

  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring the efficient use of resources, including forecasting and financial planning.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize IT expenditure.
  • Monitor and report on IT financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to the VP of Digital.
  • Oversee the procurement and management of IT assets, including hardware, software, and services.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.

Compliance And Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to protect the organization's IT assets.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Team Leadership And Development

  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop IT talent to ensure the department’s success.
  • Set performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Promote professional growth and ensure the team stays current with emerging technologies and best practices.

Vendor And Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IT-related product and services within the organization.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal value and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and address their IT needs and challenges.
  • Communicate IT initiatives, progress, and challenges to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in IT strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Demonstrated success in managing IT operations, infrastructure, and service delivery.

  • Proficiency in IT governance, risk management, and compliance.

  • Project management skills with a track record of delivering large-scale IT projects on time and within budget.

Certification (Preferred)

  • Relevant IT certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or CISM.
