SUMMARY

The Director of Sales will lead as a trusted advisor to customers and potential customers, exhibiting passion about delivering exceptional results. The leader represents the voice of the customer within the company, ensuring the way we see our work is in line with how our customers see us.

The Director of Sales will lead a high-performing sales team to drive United Alloy’s growth strategy. This leader must have a deep understanding of sales excellence principles along with sales process best practices and policy execution. Equally effective in day-to-day operations and strategic alignment, they will ensure the sales function is seamlessly integrated with broader corporate goals. They are just as comfortable making customer visits and joining sales calls as they are fine-tuning processes and behind-the-scenes operations. This role reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and works collaboratively with other departments to deliver objectives set by the Executive Leadership Team.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Voice of Customer: Represents the voice of customer within United Alloy, manages and reports VOC metrics and keeps the company laser focused on solving customer problems and delivering a great experience.
  • Customer Engagement: Cultivate relationships with customers and be deeply attuned to their evolving needs and expectations. Lead by example through customer visits and direct participation in sales calls.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develops deep understanding of the industries and segments we serve, our competitive advantages and our opportunities to grow.
  • Market Awareness: Monitor and report on market trends, analyze competitors, and growth opportunities to inform strategy as well as adjust daily tactics based on real-time insights.
  • Sales Strategy, Alignment & Planning: Align sales strategies with overall corporate strategy and deliver revenue targets. Develop forecasting models, annual budgets, and tactical sales plans to meet or exceed goals.
  • Growth Focus: Identify new business opportunities in line with growth aspirations, penetrate key markets, and sustain long-term client partnerships.
  • Sales Reporting: Communicate progress regularly with transparency around pipeline health, performance metrics, and sales activities.
  • Team Leadership: Works closely with Sales Team to serve as trusted advisors to our customers and potential customers.
  • Sales Process Excellence: Drive adoption of best practices across the sales process and champion consistent policy and process implementation to deliver for our customers.
  • Sales Enablement & Training: Implement sales training programs and continuous learning initiatives that drive performance and foster excellence.
  • Product, Service and Operational Excellence Knowledge: Develops deep understanding of our products, our key benefits to customers, and our operational solutions and advantages.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, mentor, and lead a high-performance sales team with a focus on empowerment, development, and results.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, engineering, operations, and other key functions to ensure alignment and customer focus across business units.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure all team activities uphold internal policies, industry standards, and ethical guidelines.


WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic sales plans and building high-impact teams
  • Expertise in sales process and best practices, continuous improvement, and policy enforcement
  • Passion for customer success and delivering exceptional experiences • Versatility in leading both front-line sales engagements and strategic planning/operational execution
  • Strong understanding of the metal fabrication industry or adjacent markets
  • Proficiency in sales analytics, CRM platforms, and performance reporting tools
  • Outstanding negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
