Position Summary:
The Supervisor, Rehabilitation Services is responsible for assisting with the daily management of the overall functions of Rehabilitation Services. Assist with assuring competency of all staff members and maintenance of departmental efficiencies and effective department operation while assuring compliance with all state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
Essential Functions And Job Responsibilities
- Oversees day-to-day operations of Rehab staff and assist with daily direction of the Rehabilitation team.
- Work with leadership to create daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly key performance Indicators
- Maintain efficient and effective department operations while requiring compliance with all accreditations, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
- Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effect and recommend changes to physician if necessary
- Displays knowledge of assessment skills and demonstrates application of clinical skills during set-ups, follow-ups, and in-services.
- Performs clinical assessments as needed and reports results and recommendations to the referral and physician.
- Participates in complex patient assessment and care, prepares in advance to assure the patient and caregivers have a smooth transition to the home setting.
- Keeps abreast of all reimbursement billing procedures of third party, private insurance, and government regulations to ensure compliance with current processes
- Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of all rehabilitation services modalities and educates staff.
- Serve as a secondary liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Ensure effective maintenance of records pertinent to personnel and operation of the department.
- Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
- Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
- Provide education to staff on performance improvement.
- Participation in in-service training for department staff members and participate in guidance and educational programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company.
- Retain knowledge of and consistently adhere to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control and hazardous materials handling.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.
- Complete assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
- Maintain compliant with AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned during and outside of normal business hours as needed
- Responsible for selection and hiring of qualified staff, ensuring an effective on-boarding, and providing comprehensive training and regular feedback
- Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards
- Establishes annual goals and objectives for the department based on the organization’s strategic goals
- Responsible for achieving organizational performance and retention goals, including timely completion of performance evaluations

- Two (2) years of healthcare experience preferably in a sales environment required
- Two (2) years of customer service experience strongly preferred
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence
- Work environment may be stressful at times, as overall office activities and work levels fluctuate
- Must be able to bend, stoop, stretch, stand, and sit for extended periods of time
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds periodically as needed
- Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen
- Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers due to extensive computer use
- Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- May be exposed to angry or irate customers.
- Must be able to drive and travel as needed.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme heat/cold, direct, or indirect contact with airborne, bloodborne, and/or other potentially infectious pathogen
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Excellent ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with customers with the ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy
- Mental alertness to perform the essential functions of position.
- Physical and mental ability to provide clinical assessments
- Ability to work after non-business hours as needed.
